OUTDOOR ROCK CLIMBING

ALL RENTALS INCLUDE HARNESS, HELMET AND SHOES

We’ll begin with an introduction to some of Lake Tahoe’s geological formations and an introduction to rock-climbing safety. Afterwards, guest will be sized for a climbing harness, helmet and shoes. We'll then begin a short hike to the designated climbing area.

Your host will set up 1 to 2 top-ropes of varying difficulty depending on the size, competency and skill level of the group. Guests will learn how to properly tie a figure 8 knot into harness for optimal safety. You'll be partnered up to learn how to belay your climbing partner and alternate between climbing & belaying.  We will then move on to other climbing routes of similar or greater skill levels in the area.

There will be plenty of opportunities for great photos! We'll take short breaks in between climbing routes. Guests will be offered refreshment drinks and complimentary snacks.

Finally, we'll discuss how to clean up all of the gear from a climbing route and head back down the trailhead.

MADELINE, OCTOBER 2018

John was professional, patient, non-judgmental and all around a great guy! We were definitely beginners but he showed us “the ropes” from top to bottom and made us feel very safe. Would recommend to anyone visiting Tahoe! Thanks again!!

DARREN, OCTOBER 2018

Get ready for a above-and-beyond experience. Jonathan offered the best airbnb experience ever; from his friendly and gracious personality, to the technical details of setting up the climbs. It was fantastic and most-highly recommended.

CATHERINE, OCTOBER 2018

Jon was very patient with my 6-year-old and me. He took us to what felt a locals' favorite climbing spot, and thoroughly reviewed safety and communication basics before we climbed. He's very articulate and knowledgeable, able to express climbing concepts in a way novices can understand. As we walked to the climbing site, Jon told us a bit about the local history and geology, and when break time came, he provided snacks and water. Gear and shoes were also provided, avoiding the need to rent/buy equipment. A very positive first outdoor climbing experience in a beautiful spot -- overall, it was a memorable day!

DIVYA, SEPTEMBER 2018

Best thing I did on my solo trip to Tahoe! Jonathan is very calm and patient and guides through the process real well. I would definitely do this again, given a chance. Moreover, the location is absolutely gorgeous with a clear view of emerald bay. Highly recommend.

BRITTANY, AUGUST 2018

This was such an amazing experience! I’ve never done rock climbing, and I was pretty intimidated when we got to the site - but Jonathan was super patient, encouraging, and helpful. I made it to the top of a 90-foot climb and walked away feeling like a badass. Cannot recommend Jonathan enough!
